From a young age, Terry displayed an unwavering passion for speed skating. His dedication and commitment to the sport led him to become a three-time Olympian, representing the United States with honor and distinction. In a moment of triumph that will forever be etched in history, Terry became the sole American athlete to win a gold medal in speed skating at the 1964 Olympics. His incredible achievement garnered national attention and earned him a spot on the prestigious Ed Sullivan show, where he appeared alongside the legendary Beatles on that historic night.
After his remarkable success as an athlete, Terry continued to contribute to the world of speed skating as both an Olympic coach and a commentator.
