Lights-Out Manufacturing Cell
Michigan based injection molder, Champion Plastics launches its first lights-out manufacturing cell. Utilizing one of our electric molding machines, the job is setup Friday during our second shift and runs lights-out and unattended throughout the weekend.
“We are testing the lights-out concept on a single cell and plan on expanding it further as we prove out feasibility”, stated Matt McDermott, Champion Plastics Vice President of Operations. “Our intent is to utilize industry 4.0 principles to allow us to monitor the process and work cell online”, added McDermott.
